We are so excited to share this interview with Emily from The Makere!
Do you like Pizza? Donuts? What about Taco's? If you're a craft lover and into all the best kinds of foods, you're going to love The Makere.
Emily's pieces are pop culture perfection and a little bit cheeky. She's tried her hands at a few different mediums, brand identities and approaches to her business but things really came together when she got on board her designer husband.
By working with her husband, she's spent time developing a cohesive Instagram brand with a distinct style.
And has created an identity uniquely The Makere.
One of the best parts about our conversation was learning how Emily manages her day job teaching art.
Emily has run entrepreneurial projects with her students who really get a kick out of seeing their work in the school halls.
She is teaching them that they can make art for pleasure, and take a business-minded approach to finding an audience.
In this interview we speak with Emily about:
- How she developed her niche
- The inspiration for her work
- How she manages a full-time job with her creative pursuits
- Her advice for other makers
Talking with Emily about her teaching and craft career, especially uncovering how she's making both work for her was such a blast.
We hope that you take inspiration from Emily's story and turn her lessons into your own actions.
