You guys, have you heard the news? Instagram is FINALLY releasing a feature to allow folks to shop within in the app.
While currently in Beta testing, with big retailers like Kate Spade, this feature will eventually be rolled out to everyone.
Shopping directly within Instagram is huge news for makers and creative entrepreneurs like yourself.
Your products will get found on Instagram
We love Instagram here at Maker Academy but only having one clickable link from our bio’s is kind of frustrating.
We've found work around using Linktree, but being able to shop directly means single links won't matter anymore.
Shoppers can access the information they need without having to go to your bio.
And you don’t have to remember to update your bio link with every post!
It will make purchasing your products on Instagram easier
If shoppers can access your product info right there on the ‘gram, it will remove one step in the decision process for buyers.
Having all the information a click away means buyers don’t have to decide if they like your product enough to click out of the app.
It also means they won’t have to search through all your items to find the one that caught their eye
More people will discover your products on Instagram
What’s the best part about managing an Instagram account? Finding ridiculously cool things and beautiful pictures.
Adding a shop functionality to the app is going to make discovering beautiful handmade things even easier.
No longer will your buyers have to click back to influencers and curators who tagged your items to buy the piece they've fallen in love with. Hooray!
It isn’t such a stretch to imagine when Instagram rolls out this feature a “similar items”option may also appear.
Fingers crossed for this functionality, which will give you more opportunities to be found.
