Made It the podcast is back this week interviewing the uber talented Sara from Boccaccini Meadows.
We speak with Sara about how where she finds inspiration for her work, how her travels have shaped her pattern making and illustration and get insights into how she manages her freelance and creative career.
Have you ever dreamt about travelling the world, working at the leading fashion and print making houses? Or the companies at the top of their game in your industry?
Sara Boccaccini Meadows made this dream her reality.
After graduating from Leeds Collage of Art with a 1st class Hons in Textiles and Surface Pattern, Sara left England and took on internships and paid roles across three continents.
Sara has taken deep inspiration from her surroundings.
Whether it's the streets of her home town or the Botanical Gardens she spends time in with her daughter, the living and breathing city fires Sara's passion and her work.
We got to speak with Sara as she got ready to go to a party in her current home town of Brooklyn, New York.
In this episode, Sara shares:
- How her work in fashion trend research influences the band t-shirts you buy
- How she balances a freelance job, creative pursuits and spending time in nature
- What her business goals are and how she's going to achieve them
- Why she's creating an illustrated book
We loved hearing about Sara's rich personal history and the way she took risks, moving countries and outside her comfort zone to make her creative dreams a reality.
We were also stocked to hear she had spent time in Sydney where Elliot and I previously lived.
Specifically, we're hoping that you take inspiration from Sara's story and turn it into actions you can replicate in your own business.
We have loads more interviews and business tips coming so make sure you subscribe to Made It.
