This episode of Made It, we speak with Kristen Aleida!
Kristen Aleida is an artists working with watercolour and brush calligraphy.
Nature is a huge influence on her work. It's winter in her hometown of Winnipeg up to 7 months of the year so she paints and styles what she craves.
For Kristen, art provides an outlet for her to express what she feels and share with others what she needs.
Her work often features quotes from inspirational authors and feminists, carefully chosen as a way to process the work she does in Community Development.
In this conversation with Kristen, we discuss
- The opporunities she has recieved from Instagram beyond sales
- How she takes risks and isn't afraid to try new things
- The way she uses art to balance her work
- Her advice for other makers and why they should follow their gut and be authentic
Speaking with Kristen, we learned so much about how you should follow your own instincts and not be afraid to fail.
She's a self taught artist who has found her loyal audience through trying new approaches and ideas fearlessly.
